报告人: Prof. Ion Cristian Edmond Turcu, Nanjing University; STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory

报告简介:Extreme ultraviolet radiation (EUV or XUV) or high-energy ultraviolet radiation is electromagnetic radiation in the part of the electromagnetic spectrum spanning wavelengths from 124 nm down to 10 nm, and therefore (by the Planck–Einstein equation) having photons with energies from 10 eV up to 124 eV (corresponding to 124 nm to 10 nm respectively). Today, Prof Turcu will introduced recent development of EUV driven by KW laser.

报告人简介:Professor Edmond Turcu is a Professor at Nanjing University, Department of Electronic Science and Engineering since 2014. At NJU he is building a new Femtosecond XUV Beamline with Time-Resolved Spin-Arpes End-station in order to study new, ultrafast phase-transitions in materials. In a career of over 30 years, Prof Turcu first developed (Principal Investigator) such a Beamline called Artemis at the Central Laser Facility at STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory near Oxford, UK. Authored the Technical Design Report for ‘High Field Physics and QED Experiments at ELI-NP’ designed for two 10PW counter-propagating focused laser interactions (ELI-NP, Bucharest, Romania). Authored and co-authored two books, 6 patents, and over 150 refereed publications in prestigious scientific journals (Nat Mat, Nat Com, PRL, APL, etc.) and conference proceedings. Prof Turcu has a PhD and BSc from London University. He is a member of several Learned Societies: IEEE, OSA, IEEE, IOP-London, EPS.
